Medical
Services
Each patient admitted into New Age Services Corporation undergoes a full
medical assessment and related laboratory test/s. The physician on staff
reviews all laboratory tests at admission and makes referrals as needed.
Medication Assisted Treatment
Qualified physicians supervise patient's methadone dosing, meet with patients
face to face to discuss their medication dose and provide dosing adjustments
when appropriate. Physicians are available 5 days per week.
HIV/AIDS
Services
HIV/AIDS Education and Counseling/Testing services are offered to all enrolled
NASC patients. Hours of services are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-6:00 pm to
accommodate the average weekly patient flow and to minimize waiting time for
appointments. HIV counselors are certified by the State of Illinois. Counselors
are sensitive to the cultural difference of their patients. Testing is
confidential and voluntary. Treatment is not denied if a patient refuses to be
tested for HIV antibodies.
TB Skin Test
Each patient entering New Age Services is either administered a TB test and/or
has their test read to determine their status. Nurses on duty read the results
and refer those patients that have been exposed for further diagnostic
assessment.
Urine Drug Test
Toxicology screening for drugs of abuse are done on a random basis. Drug
screen results are used as a treatment tool to be addressed with the patient as
a way to intervene in their drug use behavior.
