Dr. Tonyia P. Winston, LSW "Mutual Trust, Mutual Respect, & Mutual Accountability"
Dr. Tonyia P. Winston has been President and CEO at New Age Services Corporation since April 2019, with extensive history of both administrative and clinical experience as a social worker. She is an award-winning visionary leader, educator, professional coach, and consultant. Her skills and background has taught her that when human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. Her greatest passion is bringing healing to those who have endured traumatic/stressful experiences. Dr. Winston eagerly helps her clients and team (which may include children, adults, and families) to find healthy perceptions of themselves, and strengthen their relationships so their outlook shifts to peaceful, complete, whole, and safe. Dr. Winston understands first-hand that there is no single approach for every individual, therefore she have been trained in a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Safety Curriculum. Dr. Winston possesses numerous characteristics of an effective leader. Her commitment to sustaining systems has been proven throughout her career. By revamping policies that resulted in effective resource allocation, she successfully performed cost reduction strategies and enhanced personnel outcomes. As a Social Worker, she has worked with community-based organizations to build programs and systems to help sustain their environment while delivering leadership trainings to support regulatory compliance. Dr. Winston played an instrumental role in developing and implementing the Williams Consent Decree for her prior agency, which afforded them the ability to transition nearly 200 clients from Institution for Mental Disease (IMD).
Her educational background includes a MSW in Social Work completed in 2012, where she was inducted in Phi Alpha National Honor Society. She now holds licensure in the state of Illinois as a Licensed Social Worker. In 2016, she obtained her Doctorate in Business Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. In addition to her full-time work as Chief Executive Officer for the New Age Services Corporation, Dr. Winston volunteers her time assisting mentally ill adults and mentoring pre-teens. For years, Tonyia has volunteered her time teaching mentally-ill adults life skills such as money management, time management and socialization skills to assist in their ability to live independently and prevent isolation that is so prevalent among the this population. While challenging to some, Tonyia thrives in environments that provide opportunity to serve others. She also serves as a volunteer for the non-for-profit agency, iLEAD BSTEM, organizing monthly Food Pantries alongside leading groups/one-on-one sessions with pre-teens on topics such as bullying, healthy relationships, effective study habits, and self-awareness. Dr. Winston also volunteered with the Glen Ellyn Area Alumnae Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Chapter by serving as a co-facilitator at a bullying workshop at Bolingbrook High School, where she shared with high school girls the importance of self-esteem and its role in building and maintaining healthy relationships.
With her astute background and various accolades, she has been able to create a substantial impact to the communities she has been afforded the opportunity to serve.
